Attacks on King Khalid International Airport Result in Casualties and Damage

Riyadh:Two attacks occurred on Thursday evening targeting King Khalid International Airport and a Saudia aircraft, resulting in the deaths of three Saudi citizens and injuries to others.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) reported that the attacks led to injuries among both Saudi citizens and residents of various nationalities. The injuries ranged from minor to serious, and those affected were promptly taken to the hospital.

The first attack targeted airport facilities, while the second attack damaged a Saudia aircraft. GACA confirmed that airport operations and air traffic have since returned to normal. They are working with relevant security authorities to assess the damage and ensure the safety of passengers, staff, and the broader civil aviation system.

In addition to the fatalities, Saudia Airlines stated that one of its employees died, and an aircraft on the ground was damaged. The airline reassured that no passengers were on board during the attack and that its flights and operations have resumed normalcy.
