Manama: Athletes participating in the ongoing sports events praised Bahrain's hospitality and traditions during Culture Day at the Heritage Village, which Bahrain hosted. Competitors from Hong Kong, Thailand, Mongolia, and Brunei shared their impressions of Bahrain, highlighting the event's organisation and the Kingdom's welcoming atmosphere.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Wing Tung Xyza Hung from Hong Kong, China, expressed her appreciation for Bahrain, stating, "Bahrain is a really nice country with amazing food and beautiful places. Hong Kong is very urban, but here it's more peaceful with desert vibes. I'm really proud to represent my country in this big event."
Sutthirak Kongwung from Thailand remarked on the country's appeal, noting, "It is a beautiful country with very kind people. The food is delicious, some dishes are really special."
Altanzul Altangadas, a boxer from Mongolia, found the Heritage Village "so interesting" and praised the organisation, saying, "Everything is on a high level and I love it a lot."
Hong Kong athletes Phoebe and Serene expressed their pride in competing abroad, stating, "We're so proud of ourselves that we can compete outside our country this time. Maybe this is the first and last time we come to Bahrain, so we want to learn more about the people and the culture here."
Representing Brunei Darussalam, Noorfairuzah Hani Haji Mohamad, Chef de Mission, described it as an "honour to lead the contingent" and highlighted her athletes' achievements: "Our swimmers have already broken six personal bests during this four-day competition. It's a great achievement as they are still young, and we hope they perform even better in the coming days."
The event showcased the Kingdom's commitment to cultural exchange and international relations through sport.
