San francisco: AI startup Anthropic has launched its latest artificial intelligence model, Opus 5, saying it offers capabilities approaching those of its flagship Fable 5 model at half the price. The company reported that this new model, part of its Claude family, is designed specifically for everyday office tasks and computer programming.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dianne Penn, Anthropic's Head of Product Management, highlighted that Opus 5 demonstrates greater efficiency compared to the Opus 4.8 model launched in May, showcasing the company's rapid pace of development. Testing revealed that Opus 5 is less capable of exploiting internet vulnerabilities compared to its most advanced model, Fable 5, which allows it to operate under less restrictive safety measures. Additionally, the model is reportedly less susceptible to manipulation and misuse than current competing models.
The launch of Opus 5 comes amid intensifying competition among artificial intelligence companies striving to develop more efficient and lower-cost models while simultaneously improving programming performance, productivity, and safety.
