Amir of Qatar and UK Prime Minister Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Developments

Manama: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, received a telephone call from Andy Burnham, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the call reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means to support and strengthen them across various domains. Both leaders shared perspectives on regional and international issues, particularly focusing on developments concerning the Palestinian cause. They reiterated efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

Additionally, the discussion included the recent escalation in the Strait of Hormuz and its implications for the region and international maritime navigation. The leaders stressed the importance of de-escalating tensions and prioritising dialogue and diplomatic solutions to enhance security and stability in the region.
