Accra:Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company ("Mumtalakat"), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Arab Invest, a Pan-Arab sovereign wealth fund owned by 16 Arab states, have signed a Memorandum of Collaboration to establish a strategic investment partnership. This initiative aims to explore investment opportunities in Bahrain across both private and public markets.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the announcement was made during the Gateway Gulf 2026 event, organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay on November 1 and 2, 2026.
The collaboration provides a framework for Mumtalakat and Arab Invest to share and evaluate selected investment opportunities. These opportunities may be pursued independently or through potential co-investments, focusing on areas such as private equity, venture capital, growth capital, and more. In public markets, the partnership will primarily target entities in Bahrain and transactions supportive of the Kingdom's capital market development.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, emphasized the shared commitment with Arab Invest to channel long-term capital into high-quality opportunities and deepen Bahrain's capital markets. Abdullah Bakhraibah, CEO of Arab Invest, highlighted Bahrain's attractive investment environment and the partnership's potential to act as a strategic or anchor investor in primary market transactions.
