Manama:The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has introduced an automated system for the annual renewal of licences for refrigerant reclamation. This new system allows eligible licensed establishments to renew their licences automatically, ensuring they remain in compliance with environmental and safety standards.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgrade eliminates the previous 20-working-day processing period and reduces documentation requirements by 50%. Additionally, it decreases service-level agreement timeframes by at least 25%, with the entire process now conducted electronically. Improvements include a redesigned user interface, simplified procedures, upgraded systems, electronic application forms, and standardized service information across all channels.
Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, SCE Chief Executive, stated that the automated process will accelerate licence renewals, save time and effort for beneficiaries, and improve the efficiency of regulatory procedures and licence management. She emphasized that the process would ensure continuous compliance with the environmental and technical requirements for refrigerant reclamation activities.
Al Rumaihi further noted that the Council is committed to leveraging digital solutions and simplifying procedures to enhance its regulatory and supervisory functions. This aligns with the Government's digital transformation goals and aims to provide beneficiaries with a more seamless experience.
The Government has documented, translated, and published over 1,300 public services, with 800 services having been upgraded and re-engineered across multiple sectors. These improvements are based on feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor observations, and anonymous shopper reports assessing government services. This initiative also includes the publication of service guides and service-level agreements to streamline procedures, elevate service standards, and enhance user experience.
