Manama:The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) in Bahrain has announced the opening of registration for its monthly Fixed Billing System until October 31. This initiative follows an order by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this order provides Bahraini citizens residing in their first homes with an exceptional opportunity to register retroactively, effective from May 2026. The full difference between bills issued from May to September 2026 and the average monthly bill will be credited to their accounts with the authority.
Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, stated that this move reflects the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's ongoing commitment to addressing citizens' needs, supporting family stability, and expanding options for Bahraini households.
The Fixed Billing System offers subscribers the flexibility to manage their payments without automatic deductions, allowing them to select preferred payment methods from approved channels. It enables citizens in their first residences to pay a consistent monthly amount for electricity and water based on their average monthly usage, aiding in household budget management and mitigating variations in bill amounts throughout the year.
