Jakarta:Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, congratulated Milton Dick, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia, on his election as President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) for the 2026-2029 term.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dick secured 56% of the votes during the election held at the 153rd IPU Assembly in Tanzania.
Al Saleh expressed that Dick's election reflected the confidence of the international parliamentary community in his experience and capabilities. He wished Dick success in his new role and emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination between the IPU and national parliaments. This effort aims to advance parliamentary diplomacy and promote global security, stability, and justice.
