Bahrain’s Non-Oil Trade Sees Significant Declines in August 2026

Sanaa:The value of Bahrain's non-oil exports of national origin fell sharply to BD153 million in August 2026, a 56% decrease compared to BD350 million in the same month of the previous year.

According to Information & eGovernment Authority, there was also a 16% decrease in non-oil imports, totaling BD409 million for August 2026 compared to BD489 million in August 2025. The top 10 countries accounted for 68% of Bahrain's total import value.

China was the leading source of imports to Bahrain, providing goods worth BD72 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates at BD44 million, and Saudi Arabia at BD42 million. The primary imported products included Other Aluminum Oxide, valued at BD28 million, Turbo-Jets of a thrust, and private cars.

For non-oil exports of national origin, Saudi Arabia was the top destination with BD50 million, constituting 33% of the total exports. The United States and the United Arab Emirates followed with BD19 million and BD18 million, respectively. The top exported products were Unwrought Aluminum Alloys, Aluminum Wire Alloyed, and Aluminum Wire not Alloyed.

The total value of non-oil re-exports fell by 28% to BD46 million, down from BD64 million in August 2025. The United Arab Emirates led in re-exports from Bahrain with BD16 million, followed by Saudi Arabia and the United States. Gold Ingots were the most re-exported product.

Bahrain's trade deficit widened to BD210 million in August 2026, compared to BD75 million in August 2025, reflecting the overall decrease in both exports and imports.
