Transportation Minister Addresses Energy Security at UAE Forum

Fujairah:United Arab Emirates: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, participated in the 14th Energy Markets Forum 2026 held in the UAE under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the forum was attended by ministers, senior officials, decision-makers, chief executives, and experts from the energy, transportation, shipping, and logistics sectors. It focused on themes such as "Bolstering Resilience and Delivering Opportunity," discussing developments in global energy markets, supply chain security, and the role of ports and digital infrastructure in trade and energy flows.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla delivered the keynote address at the Aramco Trading New Silk Road CEO of the Year Awards 2026, emphasizing that energy security is closely linked to the reliable movement of energy and the operational integration of ports, shipping, storage, insurance, and telecommunications services. He highlighted the need for reliable alternatives and enhanced multimodal corridors among GCC countries through effective port and road network links.

The minister stressed the importance of integrated planning for maritime and air connectivity, supporting urgent shipments when conventional routes are disrupted. He noted that Bahrain's National Aviation Strategy 2026-2027 aims to enhance connectivity and develop the aviation and logistics sectors.

In a session on leadership and national policies, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla stated that resilience is achieved through smart interdependence rather than self-sufficiency. He called for strategic infrastructure development, reciprocal port access, recognition of digital customs, and coordinated financing for essential facilities.
