Cairo:The national project "Lamea" has been honored with the Community Excellence Award for its significant contributions to empowering and developing Bahraini youth. This recognition comes as a result of the project's efforts in encouraging youth participation in voluntary and community work and preparing them for active roles in national development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the award was presented during the Second Arab Youth Leaders Forum in Cairo. The event was held under the patronage of the League of Arab States, attracting participation from numerous Arab youth leaders and notable figures.
Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, remarked that the award highlights Bahrain's achievements in youth empowerment under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She credited the success to the support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, whose vision focuses on equipping youth with the skills necessary for national development.
Minister Tawfeeqi emphasized that the award demonstrates the effectiveness of the "Lamea" project, which invests in youth development and leadership preparation. The project aims to develop an integrated system for empowering young individuals and enhancing their potential.
Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Lamea Association, praised the achievement, noting that it reflects the ongoing support from HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad. She stated that "Lamea" has evolved into a comprehensive system for nurturing young leaders, providing them with opportunities to gain experience, take initiative, and make impactful contributions.
The project's significant achievement lies in its graduates, who possess the knowledge and skills to take initiative and responsibility. Shaikha Dwa highlighted the association's commitment to continue developing programs that cater to the needs of youth, offering them more learning and experiential opportunities for national development.
The award was accepted by Abdulla Abdulrahman Al Rayes, Third Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Bahrain to the League of Arab States, on behalf of the "Lamea" project.
