Nagoya:Bahrain's national handball team has reached the Asian Games final following a 35-31 victory over hosts Japan in the semi-final, bringing them closer to securing their first gold medal in the competition.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain's journey to the final was marked by a tense match that ended the first half with a 16-16 tie. The team managed to gain control in the second half, ultimately achieving a four-goal win.
The initial half saw both teams closely matched, as they frequently exchanged the lead. Bahrain encountered defensive challenges, allowing Japan to gain the upper hand at various points. Despite Mohammed Habib receiving a straight red card, Bahrain remained focused and ended the half tied with Japan.
In the second half, Bahrain showcased significant improvements in defense, coupled with more effective attacking strategies. Mohammed Habib Al Nasser stood out with his performance in front of the goal, gradually increasing Bahrain's lead.
