Cairo: Fawzia Zainal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, led Bahrain's delegation at the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level. The session took place at the League's General Secretariat headquarters in Cairo.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Zainal delivered Bahrain's statement, representing the nation as President of the 165th Session of the Council at the Ministerial Level. She extended greetings from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and conveyed hopes for the success of the new session in promoting the interests of Arab nations and enhancing collaborative Arab efforts.
The ambassador congratulated the Republic of Tunisia on taking over the presidency of the 166th Session, expressing confidence in Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, to effectively lead the Council's work. Additionally, she extended congratulations to Nabil Fahmy on his new role as Secretary General of the League of Arab States, wishing him success in strengthening the General Secretariat's role.
Ambassador Zainal expressed gratitude towards Member States and the General Secretariat for their support during Bahrain's presidency of the 165th Session. She highlighted the achievements during this period as a testament to Arab unity and its potential to influence international diplomacy.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Turaifi, Chief of the Arab and African Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
