Bahrain and Uzbekistan Explore Parliamentary Cooperation at IPU Conference

Manama: Hassan Ibrahim Hassan, Member of the Council of Representatives and member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Bureau of Young Parliamentarians, met with Nuriddin Ismailov and Behzod Tukhtamurodov from the Legislative Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan during the 12th IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians. The meeting, also attended by Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions centered on enhancing relations through increased cooperation, coordination, and communication between Bahrain and Uzbekistan. Both parties emphasized the significance of exchanging visits to strengthen bilateral ties and learn from each other's experiences.

MP Hassan praised the conference's organization and the hospitality shown to the delegation. He expressed optimism about the conference's potential to achieve its goals and produce meaningful recommendations. Additionally, Hassan noted the unique character of Samarkand, emphasizing its historical and cultural significance.

Uzbek parliamentarians appreciated Bahrain's address delivered by MP Hassan during the conference's opening session, highlighting its alignment with the aspirations of young people and young parliamentarians. They acknowledged the address's focus on key issues and challenges faced by youth.
