Bahrain Chairs 28th Meeting of GCC Justice Ministry Undersecretaries

Manama: As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for 2026, Dana Khamis Al Zayani, Undersecretary for Courts, Family Reconciliation and Maintenance at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, chaired the 28th meeting of Undersecretaries of Justice Ministries in the GCC countries, held via videoconference.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Bahraini delegation included Dr. Mohammed Mujbil, Assistant Undersecretary for State Cases and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf. Mohammed Jamal Sultan, Director of the Ministry's Legal Affairs and International Cooperation Directorate, was also present.

The meeting reviewed a memorandum by the GCC Secretariat-General concerning a meeting of the Committee of Directors and Heads of Legal and Judicial Training Centres and Institutes in the GCC countries. It also considered a report on the 2026 meetings of officials responsible for international cooperation and international relations at the GCC justice ministries.

The meeting adopted several decisions on the items on its agenda, as part of efforts to further strengthen cooperation and coordination among GCC justice ministries and exchange expertise and experience in judicial affairs.
