Islamic Endowments Affairs Council Introduces Digital Waqf Property Rental Service

Manama: As part of government efforts to improve and re-engineer services, the General Directorate of the Islamic Endowments Affairs Council has developed the "Waqf Property Rental" service. This initiative enables individuals wishing to rent Waqf properties to submit their applications electronically. The development aims to simplify procedures, reduce service requirements, and improve user experience.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the processing time for the rental service has been reduced from 10 working days to four, while the number of application steps has also decreased. The required documents have been cut by 50%, and necessary approvals have been reduced by 25%, with the service becoming fully digital.

These improvements contribute to accelerating the review and processing of applications, simplifying procedures, and enhancing the quality of government services provided to users.

Ahmed Khalil Khairi, Director General of the General Directorate of the Islamic Endowments Affairs Council, stated that the development of government services is part of the directorate's ongoing efforts to simplify procedures, enhance service efficiency, and provide users with more accessible and flexible digital services.

He mentioned that the development is part of the General Directorate's ongoing plan to modernize its services, improve the efficiency of procedures, and advance digital transformation. This aligns with government efforts to provide faster, more flexible, and efficient services.

As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with 800 undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.

The development process is based on proposals and feedback received on government services through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, and mystery shopper reports evaluating government services. Guidelines and service-level agreements have also been introduced to improve the efficiency of procedures and the quality of services, enhance user experience, and support government digital transformation.
