Supreme Council for Environment Introduces Digital Service for Storage Location Registration

Manama: As part of ongoing government efforts to enhance and re-engineer services, the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has developed its service for requesting the addition of a storage location. The digital service enables establishments to register storage locations for chemicals and refrigerant gases, as well as refrigeration and air-conditioning units. Registering a storage location is a mandatory requirement before registering any product for import, helping ensure compliance with approved safety and environmental requirements for storage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the enhanced service has considerably reduced processing time from 20 working days to just seven days by minimizing the required documents and data, automating submission and review procedures, streamlining the application process, and providing the service fully online. This development also facilitates access to data, enhancing the efficiency of inspection and monitoring operations.

Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, SCE Chief Executive Officer, stated that the service forms part of the Council's adoption of innovative digital solutions to enhance the efficiency of government procedures supporting investment, increase compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and facilitate the business environment. She added that the service's development reflects the SCE's commitment to enhancing its services, reducing the time and effort required by institutions and investors, and supporting the effectiveness of the overall work system.

As part of the ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors. This work has been based on suggestions and feedback submitted through the National Suggestions and Complaints System "Tawasul," investors' feedback, and mystery shopper reports assessing government services, in addition to the launch of user guides and service-level agreements. These efforts contribute to improving procedural efficiency and service quality, enhancing beneficiaries' experience, and supporting government digital transformation.
