RHF Acting Sec Gen: World Humanitarian Day Highlights Importance of Humanitarian Work

Manama: Ibrahim Dalhan Al Dosari, Acting Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), emphasized that World Humanitarian Day serves as a crucial occasion to underscore the importance of humanitarian efforts and their role in enhancing the lives of individuals and communities. He pointed out that this year's observance aligns with the 25th anniversary of the RHF, marking a significant national journey in fostering the development of humanitarian work and ensuring the sustainability of its impact.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Dosari highlighted that this humanitarian legacy is a testament to the approach championed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with support and oversight from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The directives and close supervision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the RHF, have further bolstered the Foundation's status, expanding the reach of its humanitarian programmes both within Bahrain and internationally.

Al Dosari explained that over the past quarter-century, the RHF has transitioned from merely offering care and assistance to developing an integrated humanitarian system focused on empowerment, development, and sustainability. The Foundation's programmes are tailored to meet the needs of beneficiaries, enhance their capacities, and create opportunities for active societal participation.

He detailed that in the last 25 years, the RHF has supported over 32,000 humanitarian cases and provided more than 75,000 forms of assistance. This showcases the Foundation's extensive influence and ongoing commitment to serving people, maintaining their dignity, and supporting their journey towards empowerment and independence.

Al Dosari also lauded the dedication of humanitarian and relief workers globally, especially those in conflict and disaster-stricken areas. He paid homage to those who have lost their lives or sustained injuries while performing their humanitarian duties, recognizing their sacrifices as embodying the highest principles of humanity and solidarity.

He reiterated that the RHF is committed to evolving its methodologies and strengthening its partnerships in alignment with Bahrain's humanitarian aspirations. The Foundation aims to preserve the humanitarian legacy established over the past 25 years, ensuring a sustained positive impact on beneficiaries, based on principles of humanitarian solidarity, respect for human dignity, and providing aid to those in need.
