Manama: Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, said the speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during the Bahrain Shield joint military exercise reflected the Kingdom of Bahrain's approach to strengthening security and advancing joint Gulf cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Maawda stated that His Majesty's speech reaffirmed the Gulf Cooperation Council's position as a leading model of Gulf cooperation and highlighted the Bahrain Shield exercise as a practical extension of efforts to strengthen collective security and defence integration, reflecting Gulf unity and enhancing joint deterrence and defence capabilities.
He commended the speech for emphasising the importance of upholding the values of Islamic law based on coexistence and respect for good neighbourly commitments, through strengthening Islamic solidarity. He also noted the speech's reference to the contribution of the Prophet Muhammad's message to the Persian nation's spiritual, human and intellectual heritage after centuries of misguidance.
The Justice Minister said the speech highlighted the international support enjoyed by GCC states and their advanced security and defence coordination with fellow countries, partners and allies, which strengthens strategic cooperation, develops joint defence capabilities and protects the Gulf states' development and civilisational achievements.
