Rabat: Exhibition World Bahrain: The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) is participating in the 15th edition of Youth City 2030 with a specialized training course. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Al Kooheji Jewellery, is part of a program organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) at Exhibition World Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the course introduces participants to pearls and gemstones, emphasizing Bahrain's heritage as a historic hub for natural pearls and a regional center for the industry. It also showcases career opportunities in pearl and gemstone testing, jewellery design, and related fields.
The training includes five core subjects: pearls, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds. Participants learn about the characteristics and assessment criteria of each gemstone, along with the advanced tools and equipment used by industry professionals.
Noora Jamsheer, Chief Executive Officer of DANAT, highlighted that the institute's participation in Youth City 2030 offers young Bahrainis a chance to explore a sector integral to the Kingdom's history, economy, and cultural identity. She noted that the course familiarizes participants with professional testing and assessment methods and the latest technologies in the field.
Jamsheer added that the sector presents promising career opportunities for specialists. DANAT is dedicated to nurturing Bahraini talent by providing a foundation for further education and careers in pearl and gemstone testing, jewellery design, and related disciplines.
DANAT's involvement in Youth City 2030 underscores its commitment to expanding career opportunities for young Bahrainis.
