Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist attack on the vessel ENCELIA, belonging to a Saudi company, describing it as an extension of the militia's hostile behaviour and a flagrant violation of international law and the rules governing freedom of navigation at sea.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi stated that the militia's continued threats to target commercial vessels and international shipping lanes represent a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region and undermines international efforts to protect maritime routes and ensure the smooth flow of global trade. He stressed that this situation requires a firm international response to deter such practices.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures it takes to safeguard its security, the safety of its facilities, and its vital interests. He emphasized that the Kingdom's security is an integral part of the security of the GCC states.
