UAE Expresses Concern Over Regional Developments

Manama: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed deep concern over the developments witnessed in the region in recent days, calling for an immediate halt to the escalation and urging against any actions that could further heighten regional tensions and instability.

According to Bahrain News Agency, in a statement, the UAE called for the utmost restraint to avoid serious repercussions and prevent the region from sliding into new levels of violence. It also called for an immediate end to all hostilities and a swift return to negotiations, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The statement stressed the importance of ensuring the freedom, safety, and uninterrupted flow of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a strategic waterway vital to the global economy.

It also stressed that targeting infrastructure and civilian facilities in the region, including schools, universities, hospitals, water desalination plants, energy facilities, transport hubs, and residential areas, constitutes a flagrant and grave violation of the established principles and provisions of international law and cannot be accepted or justified under any circumstances.
