National Cyber Security Centre and BIBF Collaborate on AI Awareness Initiative

Manama: In a collaborative effort to enhance cybersecurity awareness, the National Cyber Security Centre has partnered with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to launch a month-long campaign focused on the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the campaign, which runs from July 4 to 31, is directed at employees in both public and private sectors. It aims to improve cybersecurity awareness and readiness to tackle emerging risks linked with AI technologies. Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre, emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity awareness as AI adoption accelerates in work environments. He highlighted the necessity of protecting data, ensuring reliable decision-making, and supporting digital transformation, while also acknowledging the opportunities AI presents in enhancing performance and innovation.

Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, CEO of the BIBF, stated that the initiative underscores the value of national collaboration in promoting secure AI technology use and bolstering the skills of the national workforce to confront emerging cyber threats. The campaign will feature social media content, weekly electronic newsletters, an interactive awareness platform, and a forum for experts to discuss cybersecurity challenges and safe AI practices in the workplace.
