HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Meets US Secretary of Energy for Strategic Energy Talks

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Bapco Energies, met with Chris Wright, Secretary of Energy of the United States of America, to advance strategic energy cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States. The high-level meeting was attended by His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; and Mark Thomas, CEO of Bapco Energies Group. The discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral collaboration across the energy sector, with a focus on joint investment opportunities and innovation-led growth.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting highlighted Bapco Energies' ongoing engagement with leading global partners to enhance energy security, attract strategic investments, and adopt future-ready technologies. Both parties reviewed the progress of initiatives such as the evaluation and development of deep gas resources in the onshore Bahrain Field, leveraging advanced US-based technologies, and advancements in the Kingdom's offshore 3D seismic programme.

The discussions also covered the progress of the Bapco Modernisation Project, focusing on deploying advanced refining technologies to optimize operational performance and efficiency. Opportunities to expand technology-driven ventures within the energy sector were also discussed to support the adoption of next-generation solutions, including innovative energy technologies under development.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasized the importance of the longstanding strategic relationship between Bahrain and the US as a foundation for cooperation across key sectors, including energy. He reaffirmed that the strategic partnership between the two countries is crucial for strengthening energy security and advancing a sustainable energy transition. His Highness underscored the importance of deepening collaboration to accelerate knowledge exchange and further reinforce the Kingdom's position as a forward-looking partner in the global energy landscape.
