Nicosia: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC), met with His Beatitude Georgios III, Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on Coexistence and Religious Diversity, organized by the Centre in collaboration with the Republic of Cyprus in Nicosia, the capital of the Republic of Cyprus.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized Bahrain's dedication to building partnerships with religious leaders and institutions focused on fostering a culture of peace, understanding, and rapprochement among different peoples.
The chairman highlighted the cooperation between KHGC and the Republic of Cyprus aimed at furthering the principles of tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue among various religions and civilizations. This collaboration is seen as a vital contribution to social cohesion and stability, while also supporting peace and security on both regional and international fronts.
His Beatitude Georgios III expressed his appreciation for Bahrain's efforts and the initiatives undertaken by the KHGC to promote interfaith and intercultural dialogue.
