Baku: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, has been elected Vice President of the Association of Secretaries General of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States and a member of its Executive Bureau. The election took place during the 20th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), held from June 22 to 25.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Sisi Al Buainain extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of his election. He remarked that his selection by consensus reflects the confidence of the association's members and underscores Bahrain's role in supporting regional and international parliamentary cooperation.
Al Sisi Al Buainain highlighted that this achievement was made possible through the support and directives of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division. He pointed out that these efforts have been pivotal in strengthening Bahrain's parliamentary participation in regional and international forums and enhancing parliamentary diplomacy.
He expressed his appreciation for the confidence placed in him by the association's members and emphasized his commitment to advancing the work of the association. Al Sisi Al Buainain is determined to strengthen cooperation and coordination with the secretariats general of member parliaments and legislative councils.
