Coast Guard Launches Awareness Campaign for Fishermen on Northern Waters Marine Survey Project

Muharraq: The Coast Guard, in cooperation with Bapco Energies, organised an awareness campaign at the Muharraq Fishermen's Port targeting fishermen, boat owners, and sea users as part of ongoing efforts to enhance maritime safety and raise awareness among sea-goers.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the campaign aimed to introduce the ongoing marine survey project in the northern waters of the Kingdom of Bahrain and to inform sea users of the designated working area, as per the published map, effective from tomorrow for a period of two months. The initiative is intended to ensure safe navigation and the smooth execution of project activities.

The Coast Guard emphasised the importance of adhering to safe navigation speeds near the project area, avoiding approach or interference with survey equipment, and complying with instructions issued by the relevant authorities. It also stressed the prohibition of fishing and the use of fishing equipment within the project zone to safeguard both maritime users and personnel on site.

The campaign included the distribution of awareness leaflets and engagement with fishermen and sea users, responding to their queries and reinforcing compliance with safety procedures throughout the project period.
