Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (29) of 2026, which amends the regulations surrounding agricultural drains. This new legislation comes after receiving approval from both the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the law updates the responsibilities and terminology of the relevant authorities and introduces stricter penalties for any violations. It also sets out new procedures for addressing and remedying breaches and grants judicial enforcement powers to authorized inspectors. These measures aim to ensure compliance and protect agricultural lands and drainage infrastructure.
The Prime Minister and the ministers are tasked with implementing the provisions of this law, which is set to take effect the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
