NCC Global Communication Office Director General Participates in 5th China Media Group Forum in Chongqing

Chongqing: Islam Ahmed Abduljabbar, Director General of the Global Communication Office at the National Communication Centre (NCC), participated in the 5th China Media Group Forum, held in the People's Republic of China. The Forum was organised by China Media Group and the City of Chongqing, gathering more than 300 government officials, media professionals, and representatives of international organisations to examine the future of media and communications in an era of artificial intelligence and explore avenues for cooperation among countries of the Global South.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Abduljabbar was invited to speak at the Forum's second and closing panel session, under the theme "Reshaping Inclusion, Equity and Justice: Envisioning the AI Wave from a Global South Cooperation Perspective." She highlighted Bahrain's commitment to using artificial intelligence technologies to advance development and prosperity across key sectors, contributing to the Kingdom's competitiveness.

She also discussed the significant evolution in Bahrain's government communications sector, emphasizing efforts to transform AI adoption challenges into opportunities for improvement, aiming to maximise the impact of emerging technologies on media and communications.

The Forum's programme included a series of panel discussions and events, offering participants a platform to exchange expertise and gain insights into international practices in the media sector, particularly in digital transformation and AI application in content production. The sessions aimed to advance media performance standards and chart future industry directions.
