Health Ministry Launches Digital Authorisation Service for Streamlined Healthcare Transactions

Manama: As part of government efforts to enhance the quality of services and re-engineer procedures, the Ministry of Health developed the authorisation service for electronic healthcare services into an enhanced digital service that enables authorised representatives to obtain electronic authorisation from commercial registration owners through the electronic system.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the service allows authorised representatives to submit transaction requests and required services to the Ministry of Health on behalf of commercial registration owners, contributing to the simplification of procedures, enhancing transaction efficiency, and providing beneficiaries with an integrated digital experience.

Under the enhanced service, the processing time has been reduced from 10 working days to an immediate and automated procedure through the service's full digital transformation. The number of application steps has been reduced to three, while the requirement to submit documents to the service provider has been eliminated. Required approvals have also been reduced by no less than 25%.

The ministry has further improved the systems in use, enhanced the user interface and user experience, and unified service information published across various channels, improving accessibility and providing beneficiaries with a more efficient and seamless experience.

Dr. Lulwa Rashid Showaiter, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, stated that the service forms part of the ministry's adoption of innovative digital solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency of government services, improving the quality of performance, simplifying procedures, and strengthening the business environment, in support of digital transformation and greater transparency and reliability in service delivery.

Dr. Showaiter added that the launch of the service reflects the ministry's commitment to developing its services in a manner that reduces time and effort for commercial registration owners and authorised representatives, enhances the effectiveness of the work system, and improves the overall beneficiary experience.

As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors. This is based on proposals and feedback received regarding government services through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints "Tawasul," investor feedback, and secret shopper reports evaluating government services, as well as the launch of guidance manuals and service level agreements. These efforts contribute to improving procedural efficiency, enhancing service quality, strengthening beneficiary experience, and supporting the government's digital transformation journey.
