Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, expressed his pride and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of His Majesty's signing of the "document of thanks and loyalty" and the royal address delivered during the Cabinet meeting. He said the address represents a comprehensive national document outlining the next phase and confirms that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues steadily with cohesion between leadership and people.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Speaker Al Musallam stated that the royal appreciation for those who express their loyalty and commitment to Bahrain in word and deed constitutes recognition for Bahraini citizens and families, as well as state institutions, community groups, writers, and poets. He added that the exchange of loyalty and renewed commitment to defending the nation reflects deeply rooted values that strengthen national duty. This reflects the distinct nature of the Bahraini experience, where leadership responds to the sentiments of the people, and the people reciprocate with loyalty and dedication.
The Speaker affirmed that His Majesty the King set out Bahrain's position in response to the Iranian attacks, confirming the Kingdom's commitment to regional stability and to strengthening international peace and security. He noted that His Majesty's emphasis on treating the Strait of Hormuz as an international maritime passage, ensuring freedom of navigation, and protecting the region from weapons of mass destruction reflects a balanced Bahraini approach that combines firm protection of sovereignty with openness to diplomacy, understanding, and peaceful coexistence. He added that prioritizing peace is not a tactical choice, but a core aspect of Bahrain's identity as a state of peace and a nation committed to unity.
Speaker Al Musallam commended His Majesty the King's recognition of members of the Bahrain Defence Force, the National Guard, and the Ministry of Interior, noting that His Majesty's remarks are highly valued by all personnel who have demonstrated their role in safeguarding the nation and ensuring continued development through their high readiness and professionalism. This provides public reassurance and affirms that Bahrain's security and stability are non-negotiable. He added that His Majesty the King's statement that current developments require constant preparedness, and that Arab states bear a responsibility to defend their sovereignty and coordinate efforts, is an approach the Council of Representatives takes into account. He also noted His Majesty's affirmation that Bahrain will take necessary legal measures against those who deviate from national unity, which strengthens the authority of the state and the rule of law and sends a clear message to anyone who seeks to undermine the Kingdom.
The Speaker said that His Majesty the King's description of the people of Bahrain as "the strength of the nation in war, and its enduring strength in peace" is a statement of pride that guides their work. He affirmed the commitment of the Council of Representatives, in close cooperation with the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to translate His Majesty's directives into legislation and initiatives that safeguard the higher national interest, protect achievements, and improve citizens' quality of life.
