Manama: As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Public Prosecution chaired the remote 51st meeting of the Committee of Experts from the Public Prosecutions and Public Prosecutor Offices of GCC member states.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Counsellor Fahad Khalid Al Buainain, the Advocate General, and attended by Mohammed Yousif Al Zubari, Chief Prosecutor, representing the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, alongside representatives of GCC public prosecution and public attorney bodies.
Counsellor Al Buainain emphasized the importance of strengthening joint GCC judicial cooperation and continuing coordination to enhance the efficiency of judicial bodies in line with the aspirations of member states. He noted that such meetings contribute to unifying visions and developing the justice system to address modern legal challenges.
The meeting discussed several items on its agenda, most notably a proposal by the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Bahrain to establish a model law on artificial intelligence in the work of public prosecutions. The proposal aims to regulate the use of modern technology within judicial processes under sound legal frameworks. Participants also discussed a draft of unified judicial guidelines for members of public prosecutions and public prosecutor offices, in addition to reviewing updates on the Hamad Al Othman Award for members of public prosecutions and public prosecutor offices in GCC countries.
The meeting reviewed the importance of these items in enhancing GCC judicial integration and considered the proposals as a platform for developing legal and technical tools that support prompt justice and strengthen cooperation between public prosecutions and public prosecutor offices across GCC states.
