UAE Air Defences Engage Six Ballistic Missiles and 21 UAVs from Iran

Abu dhabi: The air defence systems of the United Arab Emirates engaged six ballistic missiles and 21 UAVs launched from Iran on March 16. Since the onset of the Iranian aggression, UAE defences have faced significant challenges.

According to Bahrain News Agency, UAE air defences have engaged a total of 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 UAVs. These attacks have resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces and five civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities.

In addition to the fatalities, 145 people were injured with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from a diverse group of countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, and Sweden.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE has affirmed its readiness to confront any threats, emphasizing its commitment to protecting the nation's sovereignty, security, stability, and national interests.
