Bahrain: In the presence of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, three Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) were signed as part of the Cypriot President's official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The MoUs were signed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Constantinos Kombos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreements cover cooperation between the Mohammed bin Mubarak Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA) and the Cyprus Diplomatic Academy, cooperation between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and the Cyprus Ministry of Culture, and a data sovereignty initiative to enhance cooperation in technology and communications.
Dr. Al Zayani highlighted the agreement on diplomatic training as a reflection of efforts to strengthen cooperation in diplomatic training and the exchange of information and expertise in international law, diplomatic law, economic diplomacy, and related academic fields. The memorandum facilitates the exchange of academics, conference speakers, and experts, and the organization of lectures and presentations by officials from both academies as part of their training programs.
The Foreign Minister expressed pride in the Cypriot President's official visit to Bahrain, which followed an invitation from His Majesty the King, as a step to enhance bilateral cooperation. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to developing relations to serve mutual interests and aspirations.
