HH Amir of Kuwait Meets Bahrain’s Interior Minister to Strengthen Security Ties


Kuwait city: His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, welcomed General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, at Bayan Palace. The meeting marked the beginning of the Interior Minister’s visit to Kuwait, symbolizing the enduring ties between the two nations.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al Sabah, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait. During the meeting, Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, expressing their wishes for Kuwait’s continued advancement under HH Sheikh Meshal’s leadership.



HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad reciprocated with greetings to His Majesty the King of Bahrain, wishing further development and prosperity for Bahrain. Gen. Shaikh Rashid emphasized Bahrain’s strong commitment to supporting Kuwait’s security and stability, reinforcing the unity and solidarity among the Gulf Cooperation Council states.



In a separate meeting, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Mubarak Al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, received Gen. Shaikh Rashid, who extended greetings from Bahrain’s leadership. The Bahraini Interior Minister further highlighted the cooperative efforts between Bahrain and Kuwait, particularly in the security domain.



Gen. Shaikh Rashid held discussions with Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al Sabah, focusing on enhancing security cooperation and coordination. Both acknowledged the significant level of cooperation achieved and expressed a shared interest in advancing joint security initiatives.



The Bahraini Interior Minister expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended by Kuwait and highlighted aspirations to enhance security expertise exchange, operational capabilities, and joint exercises. Future agreements are expected to cover areas such as police training, civil protection, and combating violence and addiction.



Both countries agreed to pursue further collaboration through Memoranda of Understanding, aiming to bolster joint efforts in various security fields. The discussions also included learning from Bahrain’s success in alternative sentencing and open prisons. Both sides praised the role of security media in promoting awareness and combating misinformation through accurate reporting.
