Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Rwanda have signed four new agreements and cooperation programmes to strengthen their partnership and broaden collaboration in logistics, dry ports, supply chains, data centers, cloud computing, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI) projects and services.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, highlighted that these agreements are part of strategic objectives to expand international partnerships in transport, logistics, and communications and information technology sectors. The focus is on extending economic activities into East Africa.
The Oman News Agency reported Al Maawali’s remarks that the agreements include a cooperation programme in logistic services, the operation of dry ports, and supply chain-related services. A significant component of the agreement is the launch of direct flights by Oman Air between Muscat and Kigali, marking a crucial step in facilitating travel, supporting trade and tourism, and strengthening ties between Oman and the African continent.
The minister emphasized that these agreements demonstrate the strong ties between Oman and Rwanda and their mutual commitment to expanding economic and technical cooperation. The agreements aim to enhance sustainable development, support regional integration, and foster partnerships between the Middle East and Africa in priority sectors.
