Deputy National Security Adviser Engages in Diplomatic Forum 2026

Manama: Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, the Deputy National Security Adviser and Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, took part in the eighth edition of the Diplomatic Forum 2026. This event, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, coincided with Bahrain Diplomatic Day, which is celebrated every year on January 14.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the forum was attended by heads of Bahrain's diplomatic and consular missions abroad, senior officials, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials. Col. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali emphasized Bahrain's national security framework, which is rooted in the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and directed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister. He also highlighted the commitment of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, in further strengthening the national security system.

Col. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali remarked that Bahrain Diplomatic Day serves as an opportunity to emphasize the integration of diplomatic work and national security. He noted that diplomacy plays a crucial role in safeguarding the Kingdom's strategic interests by building international partnerships and ensuring coordination among political, defence, and security roles to enhance security and stability.

He also highlighted the significant role of Bahrain's embassies and diplomatic missions abroad in effectively representing the Kingdom, fostering relations with other countries, clearly conveying national positions, and monitoring relevant regional and international developments.

Furthermore, Col. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and unified efforts among all diplomatic missions to maximise the impact of diplomatic work in supporting decision-making and advancing Bahrain's interests and standing on the international stage.
