Manama: Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain, Attorney General, received the annual report of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) for 2025. The Attorney General affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has a comprehensive and effective criminal justice system founded on respect for human dignity and the rule of law.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Attorney General noted that annual reports are a key tool for evaluating institutional performance, measuring the effectiveness of national human rights mechanisms, and monitoring the development of legal safeguards and procedures, in line with best international standards.
He commended the report's indicators reflecting the maturity and sustainability of the Special Investigations Unit's performance, its professionalism and independence in investigating complaints, and its commitment to developing competencies through specialised training programmes, which strengthens confidence in the criminal justice system.
For his part, Mohammed Khalid Al Hazza, Acting Advocate General and Head of the SIU, expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Attorney General, affirming the Unit's commitment to carrying out its duties to enhance justice and protect rights.
