Manama: The Council of Representatives emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain's human rights system has witnessed significant progress across all areas. This advancement builds on national principles, societal values, modern legislation, and noble civil practices, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, marking Human Rights Day, the Council commended Bahrain's achievements and institutional progress, including the National Action Charter, the Constitution, cooperation between legislative and executive authorities, and an independent judiciary. It also recognized the contributions of the National Institution for Human Rights, the Ombuds Office, the Prisoners' and Detainees' Rights Commission (PDRC), the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), as well as civil societies and national media.
The Council reiterated its ongoing support for the development of Bahrain's legislative human rights framework and expressed appreciation for the efforts of all entities promoting a culture of human rights both locally and internationally.
