Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Andrea Catalano, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain, along with several European Union ambassadors accredited to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting took place on the occasion of the ambassadors' gathering in Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani highlighted Bahrain's selection as the host for this significant diplomatic meeting. He praised the enduring cooperation between Bahrain and the ambassadors' respective countries, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to enhance these relationships and expand cooperation across various domains for mutual benefit.
Furthermore, the Foreign Minister lauded the outcomes of Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni's visit to the Kingdom. As the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Meloni attended the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council as a Guest of Honour. This visit underscored the robust Bahraini-Italian relations and the progress made in cooperation between the GCC and Italy, reflecting the strong ties between the two sides.
During the meeting, discussions were held concerning current regional and international developments and their impact on regional and global security and stability. The meeting also addressed enhancing continuous consultation and coordination, efforts to resolve regional conflicts, and promoting just and comprehensive peace. Other issues of mutual interest were also reviewed.
