SCYS Secretary General Attends Closing of “We Write in Arabic” Initiative

Manama: Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), the closing ceremony of the second edition of the "We Write in Arabic" initiative, organised by the Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), was held at the Bahrain National Theatre. The event was attended by Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayyed, Secretary General of the SCYS.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the second edition of the "We Write in Arabic" initiative concluded with cultural performances and the announcement of winners across more than 21 categories, alongside judges, trainers, volunteers, and schools. Almoayyed stated that the initiative reflects HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad's vision of creating creative spaces for youth to express their talents in a language representing the Kingdom of Bahrain's identity and culture. He highlighted strong participation and quality work, noting the Council's support and the role of strategic partnerships with government and private institutions.

Fatema Al Alawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, commended HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad's support and the involvement of key partners, including the Ministries of Information, Education, and Youth Affairs, Visa, Zain Bahrain, and the Bahrain Writers Association. Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information; Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education; and Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasised the initiative's role in promoting Arabic, nurturing talent, and fostering youth creativity. Representatives from Zain Bahrain and Visa highlighted their commitment to supporting youth innovation and community partnerships.

Dr. Rashed Najem, President of the Bahrain Writers Association, underlined the initiative's importance in nurturing a new generation of writers and preserving Arabic cultural heritage. The initiative attracted over 7,000 participants from 225 public and private schools, as well as youth participants.
