Bahrain Judo Team Competes at Tokyo Grand Slam

Tokyo: The Bahrain national judo team is participating in the Tokyo Grand Slam, a significant event on the International Judo Federation calendar. The competition features top-ranked athletes from various countries around the globe.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Bahrain delegation includes Bahrain Judo Federation Board Member Abdullah Jassim Al Mannai, coach Kamil Khan Magomedov, team doctor Ali Subyanov, physiotherapist Said Magomedov, and the athletes: Ruslan Poltoratskii (-60kg), Sukhrob Boqiev (-66kg), Mukhamed Aloev (-73kg), Askerbii Gerbekov (-81kg), Gadzhidavud Gasanov (-81kg), Israpil Sagaipov (-90kg), Said Sadrudinov (-100kg), and Azamat Chotchaev (+100kg).

Dr. Faisal Khalid Kanoo, Vice President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council and President of the Bahrain Judo Federation, emphasized the importance of competing in Tokyo, the birthplace of judo. He stated that the experience provides valuable exposure and supports the development of the athletes' skills. He further noted the federation's commitment to preparing the team for upcoming continental and international competitions by ensuring they have the necessary conditions for success.
