Foreign Minister and GCC Secretary General Inaugurate GCC Pavilion at Bahrain National Museum

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), inaugurated the GCC pavilion at the Bahrain National Museum. The pavilion is a precursor to the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council, set to be chaired by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on December 3.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inauguration was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information; Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, Capital Governor; Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA); and Ahmed Khalid Al Arifi, Chief Executive of the National Communication Centre. Also present were Faisal bin Harib Al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Bahrain; representatives of GCC embassies; and officials from various related bodies.

The pavilion features sections that outline the stages of GCC joint action, covering the founding phase, statements by GCC leaders, affiliated organisations, shared initiatives, and various forms of cooperation, including political, strategic, economic, security, military, social, and legislative. It also includes statistical indicators and a photo gallery.

Dr. Al Zayani expressed pride in Bahrain hosting the 46th Gulf Summit, emphasizing the summit's aim to enhance cohesion and cooperation among member states. He highlighted the GCC's evolution into a stable and influential regional and international organization over the past 44 years, with initiatives including the GCC Common Market, electricity interconnection, and infrastructure projects.

He conveyed appreciation to the GCC Secretary General and the Secretariat staff, BACA, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs team for their role in preparing the pavilion.

Albudaiwi thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their support of GCC initiatives. He commended Bahrain for hosting the pavilion, which showcases over four decades of GCC achievements and development.

He invited citizens and residents to visit the pavilion, which will be open for one month. It features more than 40 main themes and 120 sub-themes across nine display zones, covering the pre-establishment phase, the founding of the GCC in 1981, joint projects, and future initiatives.

Albudaiwi also extended thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bahrain National Museum teams for their support in this endeavor.
