Abu dhabi: Dr. Mohammed Ebrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), participated in the launch of the report titled "Space Industry in the United Arab Emirates: Current Trends and Perspectives", organised by SpaceTech in Gulf, a company specialising in space-market analytics across the Middle East and North Africa. The report offers a comprehensive analysis of the space sector ecosystem in the UAE, highlighting the development of the industry by examining 247 local and international organisations that constitute the current landscape.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the report features 14 exclusive interviews and four expert articles from leading figures in the space sector, offering valuable insights into both the current and future dynamics of one of the region's most active space markets. The participation of BSA in this launch underscores its strategic importance in fostering regional cooperation and exchanging expertise, which is part of the ongoing strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UAE. This partnership was previously exemplified by the joint satellite project "Light-1", launched in 2021.
The initiative supports BSA's objective to enhance the Kingdom's role as an active partner in the regional and global space industry, leveraging regional expertise to develop national capabilities. Dr. Al Aseeri emphasized that the event aligns with the strategic objectives of the Bahrain Space Agency for 2024-2028. These objectives include building strategic partnerships by learning from the UAE's model of public-private collaboration, developing national capabilities through successful regional examples, enhancing innovation by engaging with emerging space technologies, and contributing to sustainable development through the application of space technologies in areas like environmental monitoring and food security.
