Hoorat a'ali: The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has signed agreements to allocate six agricultural plots to Bahraini farmers in Hoorat A'ali, encompassing a total area of 40,138 square metres.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD). Conducted through a public auction on the Government Land Investment Platform, the 10-year contracts were signed by Asim Abdulatif Abdullah, Undersecretary for Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs, and include a one-year grace period for establishing agricultural facilities.

Al Mubarak stated that the initiative aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to enhance food security and develop the agricultural sector. He also acknowledged the support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Advisory Council of NIAD, whose efforts continue to sustain the agricultural sector.

He pointed out that the ministry is equipping the plots with necessary infrastructure, including treated and desalinated water and irrigation networks, to promote sustainable agriculture and increase local production.

Shaikha Maram bint Isa highlighted that the allocation is a result of close cooperation between the ministry and NIAD to assist farmers in expanding production, improving efficiency, and bolstering their role in national food security. She reaffirmed NIAD's ongoing support for farmers through land provision, agricultural services, and development programmes.

Asim Abdulatif Abdullah mentioned that the ministry is committed to providing technical support and infrastructure to foster innovation and enhance productivity.
