Coast Guard Hosts Graduation Ceremony for First Female Marine Sciences Course


Manama: The Coast Guard, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Women Police, held a graduation ceremony for the inaugural group of female police personnel who completed the Marine Sciences Course. The event marked a significant moment in the empowerment and advancement of women within Bahrain’s security forces.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony witnessed the presence of several notable figures, including Major-General Mona Abdulrahim, the Director-General of Women Police, Shaikha Mashael bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Organisation. The course attracted participants from various security sectors, including the Special Security Force, the Royal Academy of Police, and the General Directorate of Ports Security.



The advanced training provided during the course encompassed a comprehensive array of topics. Participants honed their skills in marine navigation, maritime safety and security, search and rescue operations, and emergency response procedures. Additionally, the trainees received practical training on navigation maps and devices, alongside field applications at sea, equipping them with the necessary expertise to excel in their roles.



The Director-General of Women Police highlighted that the course is a pioneering initiative in Bahrain, tailored specifically to empower women in marine sciences. The programme aims to enhance women’s preparedness in the security sector, reflecting the leadership’s trust in their capabilities to undertake specialised responsibilities. She commended the participants for their dedication and high level of competence, expressing her wishes for their continued success in their professional journeys.
