Speaker Meets UK Parliamentary Delegation in Manama

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received a British parliamentary delegation led by Rt. Hon. Dame Priti Patel, UK Shadow Foreign Secretary, and accompanying members, on the occasion of their participation in the Manama Dialogue. The Speaker emphasized the deep longstanding and close relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, highlighting the cooperation and strategic partnership across various domains, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Head of the Commonwealth.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam noted the Council of Representatives' commitment to strengthening cooperation with the UK Parliament. This includes advancing parliamentary work in developmental areas that align with the shared interests and aspirations of both countries and their peoples. During the meeting, both sides explored ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation, reviewed regional and international developments, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest. The Speaker also praised the United Kingdom's role, alongside partner nations, in supporting regional security and stability.
