Traffic Director-General Hosts Iraqi Counterpart to Bolster Cooperation

Manama: Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Director General of Traffic, received Major General Dr. Uday Samir Halim, Director General of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Iraq. The visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Bahrain and Iraq.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab emphasized that the meeting highlighted the shared commitment to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in traffic management. This collaboration aims to improve performance and traffic efficiency in both countries.

The meeting served as a platform to discuss mutual interests and build effective partnerships that align with developmental and traffic-related goals. Bahrain's approach to traffic arrangements and management during major events, such as Formula 1, was showcased. Additionally, discussions covered areas of cooperation, joint coordination, and expertise exchange in modern traffic fields.

The Iraqi delegation was also given a tour of Bahrain's Traffic Control and Smart Systems Room. They received insights into the modern technologies employed for monitoring and managing traffic flow, and learned about Bahrain's initiative to outsource vehicle inspection services to the private sector.
