Bahrain National Anti-Doping Organisation Attends COP10 Session in Paris

Paris: The Bahrain National Anti-Doping Organisation (BNADO) represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the tenth session of the Conference of Parties (COP10) to the International Convention against Doping in Sport. The conference took place from October 20-22 at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) headquarters.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Bahraini delegation was led by Dr Shaikh Khalid Al Shaikh, BNADO Chairman. The team also included Saad Al Nefaei, BNADO CEO; Mohamed Sultan, Board Member; and Fatima Al Kooheji from the General Sports Authority.

The meeting marked the 20th anniversary of the convention's adoption. Key topics discussed included governance, transparency, compliance, and the operations of the anti-doping fund. Participants shared best practices and research related to anti-doping efforts in sports.

During the event, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) presented anticipated changes and updates to the international anti-doping code. The intention is to align local regulations with the latest global standards. This aligns with Bahrain's commitment to fostering a clean and fair sports environment, supported by a system that combines monitoring and awareness initiatives.
