Bahrain’s Permanent Representative in Geneva Participates in UN Briefing

Geneva: Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, the Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations Office in Geneva, participated in an executive briefing organised by the UN Office in Geneva in partnership with the United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE). The event was attended by Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of the UN Office in Geneva, and Dr. David Fern¡ndez Puyana, Permanent Observer of the United Nations University for Peace to the United Nations, along with other international organisations in Geneva.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the briefing highlighted the University for Peace's vision for promoting peace and security through innovative approaches to education and coexistence. Dr. Puyana noted the strong partnership with Bahrain, particularly in the joint postgraduate diploma in peaceful coexistence. This programme, launched by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence in collaboration with the University for Peace, aims to enhance skills, build capacities, and support research in promoting peace, tolerance, and human solidarity.

In his address, Ambassador Abdullah underscored Bahrain's commitment to fostering peace, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He highlighted Bahrain's dedication to promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence, reflected in the work of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence and initiatives such as the postgraduate diploma in peaceful coexistence.
